Our Lady Star of the Sea has multiple learning areas across a single level. There are 25 classrooms and Hub spaces which provide extra learning areas. Classes have access to outdoor areas for learning and gathering.The school has a well equipped and spacious library, which is accessed for library lessons, research and borrowing.
A multi purpose hall provides space for sport and physical education, whole school gatherings and class activities. This opens on to an artificial surface basketball court. This court is one of 2 on the grounds. Junior students also have access to ball game/throwing facilities near the Junior Playground.
Technology is accessed in each learning area and supports contemporary learning. Learning is further enhanced by the provision of portable technology such as laptops, Ipads, chrome books and multi media equipment. Students in Years 3-6 participate in the Bring Your Own Device program.
Students enjoy gardening at Our Lady Star of the Sea. They grow vegetables, herbs, annuals and have access to multiple gardening areas. There are facilities available for children to be involved in cooking activities.Our grounds include grassed areas, hard court areas, junior, middle and senior playgrounds, sandpits and passive play areas. An amphitheatre provides an open outdoor classroom space.
An Outdoor Learning area provides barbecue and preparation facilities as well as space for classes to work outdoors but undercover.
An on-site canteen provides a lunchtime service to the school 3 days a week. A two-minute walk from the school is Our Lady Star of the Sea Church.
