Intergrated Enquiry
At Our Lady Star of the Sea, Integrated Inquiry learning is a teaching approach that combines explicit teaching, inquiry-based learning and learning dispositions.
It involves a process of exploration and investigation where students actively engage in asking questions, gathering information, analyzing data, and developing conclusions through a collaborative, problem-solving approach.
In integrated inquiry learning, students are encouraged to draw upon a variety of academic disciplines from the Victorian Curriculum, including; Science, Mathematics, Humanities, the Arts and Capabilities, to investigate and solve complex problems.
This approach helps students develop student agency and voice through critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, as well as an appreciation for the interconnectedness of different subjects.
At Our Lady Star of the Sea, we value a student-centered approach that emphasizes active engagement and encourages lifelong learning, as is also evident in our STEM learning.
