Procedures for Prep Enrolment
To be eligible for enrolment to Prep, a child must be at least five years of age by 30 April of the year in which enrolment is sought.
Applications for Prep enrolments are accepted during the year previous to commencing school. Towards the end of Term 1 each year parents and carers are invited, with their children, to join a school tour led by our Year 6 students. Tours take place between 9.30 - 11am. The date for this day is advertised amongst local kindergartens and day care centres, as well as the school website. On this day parents and carers are also invited to an evening information session.
A copy of the Birth Certificate, Baptism Certificate and Immunisation Certificate are to be provided with the enrolment application.
Following receipt of an application parents and carers are invited to attend an interview with the Principal at which the Vision of Our Lady Star of the Sea School will be discussed in relation to your child’s needs as a learner.
Around October the school will issue a letter offering enrolment to successful applicants.
In Term 4 the parents and carers and children are invited to a Parent and Student Information Session. The Information Session will include the topics of school organisation, routine and orientation whilst the children are involved in orientation activities. An Orientation to Prep booklet will be issued.
Students are invited to participate in two Orientation to School sessions in December.
