Procedures for Prep Enrolment

To be eligible for enrolment to Prep, a child must be at least five years of age by 30 April of the year in which enrolment is sought.

Applications for Prep enrolments are accepted during the year previous to commencing school. Whilst the official enrolment period is held in May during Enrolment Week, enrolments at other times of the year may also be considered.

During May of each year, between 9.30-11am,during Prep Enrolment Week, parents and carers and children are invited to join a school tour led by our Year 6 students. On this day, between 7-7.45pm parents or carers are also invited to an evening information session.  

A copy of the Birth Certificate, Baptism Certificate and Immunisation Certificate are to be provided with the enrolment application.

Following receipt of the enrolment application form the school will forward a letter to acknowledge the receipt of the form.

Following receipt of an application parents and carers are invited to attend an interview with the Principal at which the Vision of Our Lady Star of the Sea School will be discussed in relation to your child’s needs as a learner.

Around October the school will issue a letter offering enrolment to successful applicants.

In Term 4 the parents and carers and children are invited to a Parent and Student Information Session. The Information Session will include the topics of school organisation, routine and orientation whilst the children are involved in orientation activities. An Orientation to Prep booklet and a School Information booklet will be issued.

Students are invited to participate in Orientation to School sessions during December in Term 4.
